“When excuses cease, victory is certain”, I reply as I take a sip from my taza and set it down on the small wooden table at the cafe by the beach, “when your life is centered around others, you will be the slave with another mastering you, yo.  Until, you take back the direction of your life, you will always be at the discretion of others, yo.”

“I don’t mind being property of others”, Bilta replies as he shrugs, “they pay bills and I can do what I want in my free time, yo.”

“Certainly, no one is demanding that you own your life on your terms but the slow progression to nothing begins when you give away your power to another.  Your success is only relevant to you — success is always internal-centered around the individual or group consensus, yo.”

“I am a party of 1”, he replies as he turns his head to look out the window, “I am a lone wolf out on the plains searching for my next meal, problem or shelter, yo.”

“You will be fine until you are tested”, I respond as I turn my head to the digital.waiter, “one does not beat the herd but beat off the pack of competing groups.  One against several is the surest path to ruin / the individual against the whole is the reason that we have laws, elections and protection for minorities.   The fight of the person against the group is not altruistic but based on a demand for others to change / until you point the gun at yourself, it will be useless.  Until, you attack yourself the way that you target others, you will be the slave at the behest of others, yo.”

“Good people feel good”, I continue speaking as I take a sip of coffee, “maybe, there-in lies your problem, yo.”

I take another sip of coffee from my taza and set it down on the small wooden table at the cafe by the beach.

“Good actions lead to feeling good and bad habits kill, yo. Good thoughts without a hand moving is like wishing a fish to fly without giving it wings.  Desire without intentional and deliberate action is riding a bike with two flat tires, yo.”

I turn my head to Bilta.

“One does not make a request without a plan on what to do.  One does not make a demand without also wanting payment.  The baker does not make a loaf to sit around, yo.”

“What does that mean”, he replies as he takes a sip of water and looks out the window.

“A business produces goods to sell and not to fill empty shelves to give the illusion of success, yo.”

“Your life will be a result of how you deal with stress”, I continue speaking to Bilta as I recline in the corner of the small cafe by the beach, “what you do when times are hard is ultimately the variable that will determine where your life goes.  Telling you to smile, normally ends with him sucking dick, yo.”

“That’s interesting”, he replies as he takes a sip of water from his styrofoam cup, “I gotta be hones that I had not thought of that, yo.”

“You want to be the sucker and not the sucked”, I continue as I turn my head to look out the window at the cafe, “the one that rides the waves and not the one that is used.  You want to be the captain of your life, yo.”

“I feel like I am captain”, he responds as he turns his head to me, “I feel like I am in charge of my life, yo.”

“You are not — there’s two options that you can take in life.  Grab them both, yo.”

“That makes no sense”, he responds as he shrugs, “I have no clue what two things that I have that can chart of the course of my existance, yo.”

“They are under the table and in place to control your future.  One can grab hold of life or it can grab you and pull you off course, yo.  Either you hold yourself in place or life will push you around, you are not the result of others actions but your own.  If you want to go someplace in your life, go.  If you want to do something in your life, do it.  You will never be the success of others.  Until, you decide that you will walk your path solo then you will always be the burden bearer.  The pack animal does not lead the herd, yo.”

“That makes no sense”, he responds as he looks back at me.

“The beast of burden is never the master, yo.”
